The University of Verona has launched a call for applications for one PhD position within the ITN project \u201cDIRNANO – Directing the immune response through designed nanomaterials\u201d, funded from the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie grant agreement No 956544.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s DIRNANO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DIRNANO<\/a> is an interdisciplinary training programme for next-generation early-stage researchers at the interface of nanopharmaceutical bioengineering and its translation<\/strong> on preclinical and human immunology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIRNANO will develop biocompatible nanopharmaceuticals with either \u201csuper\u201d-stealth or immune-specific behaviour for cancer immunotherapy and vaccination<\/strong> by mapping nanoparticle-immune interactions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is coordinated by the University of Padova<\/strong>, and includes internationally renowned scientists and industrialists <\/strong>at the forefront of nano-engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, molecular biosciences, commerce and business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position at the University of Verona<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The University of Verona will hire one <\/strong>early-stage researcher to carry out the research project ESR09 – “Development of therapeutic cancer nanovaccine candidates\u201d<\/strong> under the supervision of Prof Roberto Fiammengo<\/a>. The researhcer will be integrated within the group of Organic Chemistry and Nanobiointeractions of the Department of Biotechnology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected candidate will be employed and enrolled in the PhD in Biotechnology. The PhD programme lasts for three years, starting from 1st<\/sup> of February 2021, and will end with the defence of the doctoral thesis, which must take place by 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants can submit their application from 1st<\/sup> of October 2020 to 15th<\/sup> November 2020 at noon.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
